Cybil Awards

The Cybil Awards for children’s and young-adult books have been posted! I served as a judge of the poetry books, and I’m pleased to write that my personal favorite of the five (Butterfly Eyes by Joyce Sidman and Beth Krommes) turned out to be the winner. Fellow judges were Kelly Fineman, Wendy, Gregory K., and Jone. Special cheers go to Susan at Chicken Spaghetti, who corralled us into shape.

I’ll have more this week. My apologies for the unexpected radio silence.

Walter, I enjoyed your insightful comments so much during the judging process. Butterfly Eyes was just named an outstanding science trade book for kids, too.
